Aben is a friend of my childhood, a typical southerner, intelligent, ghost spirit, persistent, and a lot of chivalrous courage. For this reason, there is always a group of friends who share the same smell, not for profit, not for gain, just for the pleasure of being friends. For more than 20 years, Aben took his wife and a group of children to travel in Xinjiang, Guangdong, and Henan for many years, and asked his motivation, only to call his friends. Nearly fifty years old, he returned to his hometown of Chongqing again. Whether he has complied with the old saying of acknowledging his ancestors and returning to his ancestors is unknown. Maybe it is just another post on the way. Aben’s unease is well known.
Because of his restlessness, Aben's path to art also has a lot of extraordinary colors.
Adhering to the skills of the family, learning ancient methods, visiting famous paintings of the past dynasties, studying the skills of various schools and schools, and studying the materials and mounting techniques of the past dynasties. The antique paintings are almost chaotic, which laid the foundation for the traditional techniques of Aben Chinese painting. A solid foundation, and the hard work of distinguishing the authenticity of ancient paintings. In this way, Aben once traveled all over the country, reading all the fine works of the past dynasties collected by the people, and for examination and study, he quietly accumulated his strength for the dream of a younger artist. Sure enough, in the past two decades, Aben has ceased to be able to use antiques, and has been immersed in the condensing of his personal painting style by virtue of his solid and abundant traditional accumulation. As a result, groups of lively, contemporary and personal style paintings frequently appear in various national exhibitions and newspapers.
Aben's paintings are beautiful and luxurious. Displayed on the wall, the hall is full of brilliance and full of charming splendor. To find the source of the technique, there is the flower and bird technique of the Song and Yuan dynasties, the momentum of the literati's pen and ink, the bright and beautiful colors of the golden and blue landscape, and the meticulous workmanship and meticulousness of the courtyard painting. Obviously, Aben has the extraordinary ability to integrate traditional painting language and the cultural consciousness of pursuing the contemporary characteristics of painting language, and has formed his own language style with distinct contemporary characteristics and personal style.
In his eyes, the purpose of studying traditional techniques is not to observe traditional language norms, but to create on the basis of inheritance. It is a contemporary expression based on the perse aesthetic needs of contemporary people and incorporating personal aesthetic judgments. The purpose of language is to express. Pursuing the contemporary characteristics of painting language is the demand of contemporary people's emotional expression. Therefore, we see Aben's paintings, whether landscapes, flowers and birds, swaying wind and bamboo, clustered peonies or wild chrysanthemums all over the mountains, all show the prosperous feelings and ideals of happiness of contemporary people in the prosperous world.
Different from the "easy brushwork" of traditional literati paintings, Aben's paintings mobilize all the elements and techniques of the painting language. The layout is large and open, with great tension, and the momentum is free and easy. Elegant. Behind this superb technique is the painter's abundance of spiritual emotions and passionate desire for expression.
Obviously, Aben's paintings provide us with a different kind of aesthetic emotions-enthusiasm, joy, happiness, sunshine, just like the joy of life. No matter how much work Aben puts behind, the paintings of Aben and Aben in front of people will always be a ray of breeze in summer and warm sunshine in winter.
Thanks Aben!
