水画家、国家一级画师、中国美术家协会会员、、中国国画研究副院长,武陵画派青绿山水画的代表人物之一,擅长山水、花鸟,兼工书法。中国画画研究员,清华国画艺术研究博士生导师,中国工艺美术家协会名誉主席,中国现代民间绘画研究员,中国画院副主席,中国美术家协会员,湘西武陵画派创始人,获得国家殿堂级名家称号,曾经获北京十佳优秀美术名家荣誉,2020年获国礼艺术名家,同年被中国书画家协会,颁发最具有收藏价值画家金牌,中国美术家协会颁发实力派画家金牌国内外展岀活动与获奖:1992年11月26日中国美术馆展岀,并荣获二等奖。1997年在博物馆举办个展,获一等奖。作品曾先后在日本、韩国、新加坡、美国、法国,迪拜等地举办画展23余次,作品被收藏于中国文化部、中国美术馆、上海美术家协会、国家故宫博物馆、柬甫寨文化中心和巴黎中华文化中心等。不少作品曾获全国美展优秀奖、香港企业金牌奖、台湾金笔奖、日本艺术院奖、世界科教文教育成果奖和艺术成就奖2018年10月18日荣获中国最具收藏价值艺术家责任奖等。
