成元德出生于南通，年幼时全家其他亲人均举迁台湾省，因其年幼，独自留在大陆随奶奶生活。自小酷爱书法和绘画，一生可谓与笔为友。创作各类书法作品不计其数，并斩获“中国艺术百花奖”、“香港回归祖国20周年全国诗书画创作大赛”金奖、“共和国金紫荆奖”金奖；“国家非物质文化艺术传承奖”金奖等诸多奖项。被授予2021年全国“百家争鸣杯”书画艺术大赛一等奖、“国家非物质文化艺术传承人”、“祖国和平统一特别贡献人物”等荣誉称号。书画作品先后由美国、日本、加拿大、英格兰，法国等国际友人、博物馆以及中华人民共和国外交部永久收藏。

Cheng Yuande was born in Nantong. When he was young, the rest of his family moved to Taiwan Province. Because he was young, he stayed alone in the mainland to live with his grandmother. He loved calligraphy and painting since he was a child, and he has been friends with pens all his life. He created countless calligraphy works of various kinds, and won the "Chinese Art Hundred Flowers Award", the "Hong Kong's 20th Anniversary of the Return of the Motherland National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Competition" gold medal, "Republic Golden Bauhinia Award" gold medal; "National Intangible Culture and Art Inheritance Award" gold medal And many other awards. He was awarded the first prize of the 2021 National "Hundred Schools of Contending Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition, "National Intangible Culture and Art Inheritor", "Special Contributor to the Peaceful Reunification of the Motherland" and other honorary titles.
